2021 Central Texas Fall Food Drive

Help Texans End Hunger Today marks the beginning of our Fall Food Drive! I'm happy to announce that I'm sponsoring the 3rd Annual Food Drive that officially kicks off this week through November and we are asking for your help! As with the 2019 and 2020 food drives, donations will benefit the Central Texas Food Bank, which needs our "grassroots" help with the continued pandemic and the ripple effect it has had on families near and far.

Highlands At Mayfield Ranch Food Drive
The 2020 event was a smashing success with more than 1,165 pounds of food collected ~ nearly double that of 2019! We need your help to clobber 2020! :)

What Items Are Most In Need? We've set a $2,500 cash donation goal and a 25% increase for physical food, which will bring us to 1,400 pounds of food for 2021. High-demand items include:

  • Peanut Butter

  • Canned Chicken Breast or Tuna

  • Canned Low Sodium Vegetables

  • Canned Fruit In Its Own Juice (no sugar added)

  • Dry Pinto Beans

  • Brown Rice

  • Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder

  • 100% Whole Grain Cereal

  • Dry Pasta

  • Items In Non-Breakable Packaging, Please

Where/How Can You Donate? While the "physical" food drive is Saturday, October 16th from 1-4 PM in the greater Round Rock/Cedar Park/Leander area, there are three ways for you to help:

  • MONETARY DONATION: If making a monetary donation is more convenient, and actually preferred by the food bank as they can often purchase more in bulk buying vs. donated items by a factor of 4 meals for every $1 donated! You can donate here on our safe and secure donation website or you can write a check made payable to "Central Texas Food Bank" that you can drop off or we can pick up (if you're in the neighborhood). For Monetary Donations: $50 will yield about 200 meals. Our donation website will remain up through November 30 and we encourage folks to donate now to make the most immediate impact for the upcoming holidays, which are quickly approaching.

  • VIA CAR DROP OFF: If you are near the Williamson County Regional Park (1431 and Sam Bass) you can drop off food items from the comfort of your car from 1-4PM. We'll have an easy drive thru lane in our neighborhood Amenity Center parking lot located at 3810 Bainbridge Cove in Round Rock. You can remain in your car if you prefer and we'll assist with unloading.

  • DOORSIDE PICK UP: If you live in my neighborhood here at The Highlands At Mayfield Ranch we will have doorside pick-up all day Saturday until 5PM. You can simply set your items on your front porch and email or text me at my contact information below and we will come to your home to collect your donated items.

Thank you for helping others gather around a full table this holiday season and beyond! We'll post the results from the drive soon and thank you immensely for your generosity and proving that Central Texans have hearts of gold! If you have any questions, please contact me - my information is below.
