2020 Central Texas Food Drive

Helping Texans Impacted By COVID-19 I'm happy to announce that I'm sponsoring the 2nd Annual Food Drive that officially kicks off this week and we are asking for your help! As with 2019, the food drive donations will benefit the Central Texas Food Bank, which needs our help more than ever given this year's pandemic and the ripple effect it has had on families near and far.

Highlands At Mayfield Ranch Food Drive
The Generous Donations From The 2019 Food Drive
  • Last year’s event was a smashing success with more than 600 pounds of food collected and monetary donations exceeding $1,600 for the Central Texas Food Bank.

What Items Are Most In Need? This year with food bank demand caused by the pandemic at 220% above normal, we need your help this year more than ever! We've set a $2,500 cash donation goal and a 25% increase for food, which will bring us to 750 pounds of food for 2020. High-demand items include:

  • Peanut Butter

  • Canned Chicken Breast Or Tuna

  • Canned Low Sodium Vegetables

  • Canned Fruit In Its Own Juice (no sugar added)

  • Dry Pinto Beans

  • Brown Rice

  • Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder

  • 100% Whole Grain Cereal

  • For Monetary Donations: $50 will yield about 200 meals

Where/How Can I Donate? While the "physical" food drive is officially Saturday, November 14th from 1-4 PM in the greater Round Rock/Cedar Park/Leander area, there are three key ways for you to help:

  • VIA CAR DROP OFF: If you are near the Williamson Country Regional Park (1431 and Sam Bass) you can drop off food items from the comfort of your car from 1-4 PM. We'll have an easy drive thru lane in our Amenity Center parking lot located at 3810 Bainbridge Cove in Round Rock. You can remain in your car and we'll be taking COVID precautions by wearing face masks and applying hand sanitizer.

  • DOORSIDE PICK UP: If you live in my neighborhood here at The Highlands At Mayfield Ranch we will have doorside pick-up all day Saturday until 5PM. You can simply set your items on your front porch and email or text me at my contact information below and we will come to your home to collect your donated items.

  • MONETARY DONATION: If making a monetary donation is more convenient, you can donate here on our safe and secure donation website or you can drop off a check made payable to "Central Texas Food Bank". While the website will remain up for a few weeks, we encourage folks to donate now to make the most immediate impact for the upcoming holidays, which are quickly approaching.

Thank you for helping others gather around a full table this holiday season and beyond! We'll post the results from the drive soon and thank you immensely for your generosity. Central Texans have hearts of gold! If you have any questions, please contact me - my information is below.
